Chiedza Zvondiwe Brown was born on 13 December 1999 in Harare, Zimbabwe to Andy Brown and Chiwoniso Maraire. After being a pre-mature baby, her father poured her with love and affection. Her parents had another daughter together, Chengeto, while her father had 8 other children, Ammara Brown being one of them. After her parents passing, Chi relocated to Texas, USA together with her elder sister, Chengeto and live with her aunt Tawona Gatson.
In 2011 at the ZIFF backstage Ammara noticed her playing skills after their father alert her. She would be playing "Next Lifetime" which not long after was to be dedicated to Andy Brown himself at his funeral. She went on to show her musical proneness at her mothers funeral not long after.
