Christ Embassy is an international Christian church with various assemblies world over including Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwean branch of the church falls under the Southern African zone. The church was founded by a Nigerian born preacher Chris Oyakhilome, also known as Pastor Chris.

Background

The establishment of the Christ Embassy Church in Zimbabwe is attributed to the role of a local cleric Ruth Musarurwa . Musarurwa began by leading a mission group of a handful of followers and the church subsequently grew to open other branches nationwide. By 2013, the church had witnessed monumental growth with more than 160 branches countrywide.[1] The Zimbabwean branch which falls under the Southern Africa zone is led by Ruth Musaruwa. .[2]

In 2002, Christ Embassy Zimbabwe became the first church to host a Christian road show. The road show saw various people receiving Christian booklets for free as part of the evangelisation program.[3]
