November 2017 Press Statement
The Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Constantino Chiwenga warned politicians in the ruling Zanu-PF party to stop purging heroes of the Second Chimurenga liberation war or the military may be forced to step in. General Chiwenga also warned the politicians to stop denigrating the military and security services. This came after President Robert Mugabe fired his deputy and longtime aide, former vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa.[1]
