Maxwell Chikumbutso is a Zimbabwean born technology enthusiast/"inventor" who made the headlines when he made a public announcement availing some of his works to the public. Some of his "inventions" include the "green power machine" and the "Saith Backpack IP Mesh" just to mention a few.

Background

Sangulani Maxwell Chikumbutso was born on 10 November 1980 in Mazoe to Andrew and Susan Chikumbutso. Maxwell is the second born in his family and his siblings are his elder sister Hazvinei who is late, Shupikai and his brother Farai. He grew up in the high density suburb of Kuwadzana.[1] He grew up with his mother as his father walked out on the family. His father was said to have been an electrician.

Education

Maxwell Chikumbutso first attended Haig Primary School but would then move on to Kuwadzana 5 Primary School. For his high schooling he attended Dzivarasekwa 2 High School up to form two before dropping out.

Career

Maxwell is said to have produced his first innovation around 1999 when he produced a Radio broadcast transmitter.[1] Some of his listed "innovations" include a Digital Navigation Facilitator and a Green powered generator. It is said that although his prototypes worked, he is said to have secured funding from several people that he initially approached. The generator failed to be patented due to the fact it "defied" laws of physics. Maxwell is said to have also turned down the offers of buyouts from an unnamed European based company. At some instances Maxwell was forced to use his personal funds before getting a USD 500 000 funding package from Teddy De Almeida. Although Almeida offered the money as a loan or an investment, he was invited on the day of the launch where he was offered a stake in the enterprise.
