In the interview with ANN7 he dispelled rumours that he was running away from the government. He also said that there were no plans to form a political party as it would kill the momentum that was created by the This Flag Movement.

Mawarire's case was thrown out by the Magistrate who cited that the new charges that were brought against Mawarire during the trial were unconstitutional.
