News:MDC-T MP reveals how he suffered at the hands of police after his arrest. Says police drank beer while on duty

<vote /> Speaking on Monday 26 September 2016 at MDC-T's headquarters at Harvest House in Harare, Glenview North Member of Parliament Fani Munengami gave a testimonial after he was beaten by police following his arrest.

Munengami recounted how after he was arrested just before 10am and beaten until 6pm. He revealed that after his arrest he was bundled into a police vehicle were they started beating him. Upon arrival at the police station, Munengami said he was forced to lie face down while they continued beating him and three other women. Apart from beating him police also denied him the chance to speak as he said that they increased the beatings whenever they attempted to raise their hands to say something.

He also revealed that police forced him to put his head between the legs of a lady while he was laying down. Munengami also described how police took turns to beat them and mentioned that when one got tired another one would take over and continue beating them. He also revealed that while they were beating them the police officers were also abusing drugs.

Munengami said that police refused them access to a hospital and that they only managed to go seek medical attention after their release from remand prison. Three of the women that were arrested together with him are still in hospital.
