Pastor Evan has risen to prominence after posting a number of videos on social media (Facebook) demanding that the Government respond to the deteriorating state of livelihoods that citizens are currently going through in Zimbabwe. Coupled with the videos is him wearing a Zimbabwean flag, showing his love for the nation, and hence demanding action to citizens grievances. The videos have ignited interest from many individuals, going on to start the #ThisFlag movement.

After a successful call for a 'Stay Away' that effectively called on businesses and individuals to Shut Down Zimbabwe on the 6th of July, a second attempt at a similar protest was somewhat thwarted by his arrest.
