Onbeat Mapfumo

Onbeat Mapfumo is a 39-year old self-proclaimed Prophet who is the founder of "By Grace Ministries." in Highfields. He shot to national attention and notoriety after he was arrested for sexually abusing three of his congregants. Mapfumo was also accused of impregnating a fourth woman. The prophet was arrested after he inadvertently admitted to the charges on national radio. He was live on Tilder Moyo's radio show when he was ambushed by one of his victims and her husband. He allegedly raped the three women under the pretence of conducting prayers at 7937 New Canaan Highfield Harare.

After his arrest he was taken to Machipisa Police Station where he was detained until his court appearance. He was granted a bail of $100 by Magistrate Rumbidzai Mugabe.
