Susan Dzinamarira is wife to a famous gospel musician Mathias Mhere. Susan came to the limelight in February 2015 when the local media reported that she was allegedly having an affair with her husband's close friend identified as Gift Mahlupeka.[1] It is alleged that Mhere discovered WhatsApp chat messages which pointed out to an affair with the said friend.[1]
Divorce Speculation
In February 2015, local media speculated that the alleged cheating would likely result in divorce. The couple had been married for six years at the time and had sired three children together namely Shayne, Sean and Shelton. Susan is said to have started seeing Gift in 2014.[1]
In the daily tabloid, H-Metro, of Tuesday 17 February 2015, it was reported that Susan had confirmed to have cheated on her husband. She also confirmed that it was her first time cheating in their marriage. She however made it clear that the relationship did not get physical as it started and ended on WhatsApp. She also apologised to her family, the Mhere family and the whole nation for bringing Mhere's reputation into disrepute. Susan also indicated her desire to rebuild her six-year-old marriage and work things out with her husband and bury the hatchet.
Adding more speculation to the alleged cheating, Gift was also quoted in the media claiming that the whole thing had been engineered by Mhere to drive up sales of his album which he also launched within the same week that the alleged scandal surfaced.[2] Gift even further claimed that Mhere put the plot in action by sending his wife suggestive messages using Gift's phone. There still remained a lot of unverified claims surrounding the whole saga.
