A 38 year old man from Kuwadzana, Batsirai Chanakira, allegedly raped a minor after gagging her with a cloth and tying her legs. After the deed, he stashed the minor in a suitcase, in an attempt to “evidence” from the minor’s relatives who were searching for her. Making his first appearance at the courts, Chanakira was denied bail by Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti who remanded the matter to November 23, and advised Chanakira to apply for bail at the High Court.
