A book by Zimbabwean-British writer, Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train, has been rated the most popular book by Google in 2016. Google announced the list of “Google Play’s “Best of 2016” this week. In the list Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe by Cullen Bunn took first place, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two by J.K. Rowling and others second place.
Hawkins is the first Zimbabwean to top such a global list. The writer is in Harare this week to celebrate the success of her book globally. The book was adapted into a Dreamworks film by the same name this year.
