16 year old maid rescues 3 children from fire suspected to have been started by a faulty ZESA cable
Sofia Sigodho (16) saved the lives of three children after a fire suspected to have been started by a faulty ZESA cable broke out in Redcliff, Kwekwe. The fire also claimed the life of the fourth child who died on her way to Parirenyatwa hospital in Harare following severe burns.
The 2-year old twin, Mutsawashe, who died after the incident, was buried in Gweru while the other twin is still battling for her life. Sigodho managed to save the lives of all the four children aged six, eight and a set of twins aged two. The cause of the fire is yet to be established but neighbours allege that the fire started from a ZESA main line outside.
