In this video, vets from Aware Trust Zimbabwe rescue a young lion which had been trapped by a wire snare near Nyamhunga township in Kariba. Locals had reported hearing growling sounds in the area. After locating the lion, the vets tranquilized the lion first, before cutting the wires. After the vets freed the lion, they x-rayed it to check for broken bones. Luckily the lion did not have any and it was released back into the wild.
An estimated 1000 people from the community came to watch.
