Earlier on today (Thursday) National People’s Party spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire and Joice Mujuru’s presidential spokesperson, Gift Nyandaro were involved in a physical altercation. It is reported that Nyandoro was briefly hospitalised after the fight.
Mr Nyandoro told journalists that he was confronted by Mr Mawarire at Bronte hotel where things gout out of hand after an argument ensued over coalition talks.
The issues between the two may have been brought to the fore after Gift Nyandaro told Newsday that Mawarire was expressing his personal opinion with regards to the proposed grand coalition. Mawarire had been critical of the announcement by Didymus Mutasa that Morgan Tsvangirai should lead the coalition. Mawarire responded by releasing a statement saying that Nyandoro does not speak for the National People’s Party.
