All school children including University students to pay half fares in Bulawayo kombis

According to the new public transport policy for the city of Bulawayo, all public transport operators in the city will be required to accept half fares from school children when they are travelling to school. This includes college and university students. The drivers and conductors of the kombis will also be required to wear uniforms while the kombis themselves will be required to join one of the three aassociations in the city. The asociations are the Bulawayo Public Transporters Association (Bupta), Tshova Mubaiwa or Bulawayo City Transit Trust (BCTT).
The new public transport policy is meant to decongest the city and to ensure order and safety.
Bulawayo Mayor Mr Martin Moyo said:
We need order in the city. The competition among the kombis when carrying customers is the major cause of accidents.
