ZRP to introduce electronic ticketing system to replace spot fines: Minister

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Obedingwa Mguni has revealed that the Zimbabwe Republic Police will soon introduce a new integrated electronic system to ensure that the motorists will not be forced to pay spot fines. The new system will allow the police to trace any motorists who commit offences and as a result, the motorist will be given seven days to pay their fines.

Appearing before legislators in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Mguni said:

The new integrated system that we are to unveil soon will allow a person not to pay there and then, but to carry the receipt because that receipt will also be known at the centre or data area so that every detail of that offender is captured… it will be traceable.
