We have destroyed the opposition ahead of 2018, if we lose it's our fault: Chinamasa

Finance Minister and Zanu PF secretary for legal affairs Patrick Chinamasa has said that the 2018 elections were Zanu-PF’s to lose claiming that they had successfully destroyed the opposition. He also said that the party should be united and that the culture of suspending and firing party members should be done away with. Speaking at one day workshop on voter education and voter registration at Zanu-PF headquarters, Chinamasa said:

We have destroyed the opposition ahead of 2018. We have dealt with the opposition, we have dealt with Mai (Joice) Mujuru and the MDC formations. What is going to happen is all because of our faults.

Votes of no confidence can only apply to those who are incompetent, and must never be allowed to divide members. You must also bear in mind that it is only the disciplinary committee that confirms any action taken by the party against members.

There is no doubt elections will be done in the first half of next year. Time is, therefore, of essence if we are going to put mechanisms to win elections
