Pictures: Zanu-PF supporters denounce Gabriella Engels at Grace rally, claim alleged victim is no "angel"

Zanu-PF supporters from Masvingo Province decided to show their support for First Lady Grace Mugabe by denouncing Gabriella Engels. Engels is the twenty-year-old South African model who was allegedly assaulted by Grace at a Sandton Hotel in South Africa. Engels reported the assault to the South African Police Services which lead to a major diplomatic row and Grace avoided prosecution after she was granted diplomatic immunity.  However, the matter appears not to be over yet, after South African civil rights group AfriForum filed a court application at the Pretoria High Court challenging the decision to grant Grace diplomatic immunity. The Democratic Alliance also filed another challenge at the Constitutional Court.

The Zanu-PF supporters held up placards which claimed that Gabriella is no angel.  Literally translated, the placard’s message reads

Masvingo has declared that Engels is not an angel
