Botswana Donates Half a Million Foot and Mouth Vaccine Doses to Zimbabwe to control current outbreak

The government of BoBotswanaas donated 473, 200 doses of foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccine to help contain the current outbreak of the disease in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe has already notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) on the 16th of August 2017 of the outbreak.

FeedbackThe Public is informed that Government of Botswana has donated 473, 200 doses of foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccine to the Government of Zimbabwe to control the current outbreak of FMD in their country, which they notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) of on 16th August 2017.
This is an important measure to avert the possible risk of reversing the efforts invested in restoring the FMD free status of Zone 6 and jeopardizing the ongoing efforts to recover the FMD free status of Zone 7.
