Trouble in MDC Alliance: Gutu Tells Welshman Ncube To Shut Up And Mind His Own Business5 years ago
Trouble seems to be brewing in the opposition coalition, the MDC Alliance, as senior officials fight each other in public. MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu has told Welshman Ncube, the spokesperson for the MDC Alliance to shut up and to mind his own business over the allocation of seats. Obert Gutu has gone against the MDC Alliance pact by declaring that he will run for the Harare East constituency which has been reserved for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking to the Daily News, Gutu said of Welshman Ncube:
He should learn to mind his own business. Last time I checked he was not in the MDC. Ncube is not a member of the MDC-T. He should mind the affairs of his little party and leave us alone. The MDC Alliance is not a political party. Ncube has got absolutely no locus standi (legal standing) to instruct the MDC-T what to do with its members. He should simply shut upFeedback
This comes after Ncube had said that all officials who violated the MDC Alliance pact should be censured. Ncube had previously told the Daily News,
The position is that each alliance partner that was given a seat is now allowed to proceed…And if anyone from an alliance partner disregards that then they will be acting in bad faith and it will mean that whichever party that person comes from will have to take disciplinary action against that person.
