Harare Mayor Bernard Manyenyeni revealed that Harare City Council is collecting $25 000 a month from parking fees.
Said Manyenyeni:
They are excited about what they consider to be a heavy parking fees and where that money goes to. We have a duty to answer that, the first thing to indicate is that our parking revenue have gone up from under $20 000 a day to $25 000 a day. There is an overrated expectation about our parking revenue, so we are talking about half a million dollars a month compared to $12-30 million in total. Our residents need to know and understand the relationship of the two figures.
