Austin Peter Moyo a senior officer in the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) died on Sunday after succumbing to injuries sustained in a car accident on Tuesday. He was 62. Speaking at the funeral, Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister Angeline Masuku described Moyo as a loyal servant of the Zanu-PF party. Said Masuku,
We have lost a great mind and hero who was ready to sacrifice everything for the liberation of this country. As an intelligence officer, Cde Moyo never forgot where he came from and served the party faithfully until his demise…We kindly ask the Moyo family to be patient and bear with us as we await communication from the higher officers regarding his burial.
