Zanu-PF Will Accept Fair Criticism: Samkange Tells EU Election Observers
Mudzi South legislator Jonathan Samkange (Zanu-PF).told Deputy chairperson of the European Union Election Observer Mission Mark Stevens that Zanu-PF will accept fair criticism.
The European Union Election Observer Mission to Zimbabwe’s July 30, 2018, harmonised elections met with the Parliamentary Legal Committee members led by Samkange. Samkange said electoral reform is an ongoing process. Said Samkange:
It is a process that is ongoing. As for 2023 elections we have already started. The process will look at various proposals. I believe generally we accept fair and reasonable criticism. My party Zanu-PF will accept fair criticism
FeedbackStevens said Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda who is also a Zanu-PF legislator agreed on the possibility of an Ad-Hoc committee on electoral reforms or a standing committee to address electoral issues. A member of the EU delegation to Zimbabwe, Mr Thomas von Handel said it is up to Zimbabwe to implement the recommendations in the EUEOM final report.
