The government reportedly started processing the payments for the bonuses today. This is considered a huge improvement and departure from previous years where payment of bonuses was staggered with some payments stretching to the middle of the following year.
Civil servants have however expressed unhappiness in the manner in which this year’s bonuses will be calculated. The minister of Finance recently announced that the bonus will not include allowances.
