Zanu PF COSLEG Faction is believed to be a political outfit in the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front. The faction is also believed to have ties with Cosleg Private Limited. It was reported that the faction surfaced in November 2017 and supported team Lacoste, Zanu-PF Faction during the Operation Restore Legacy which ousted Robert Mugabe and the G40 (Zanu-PF Faction) Faction) from power.

Acie Lumumba's assertion

During his brief chairmanship of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development communication task force Acie Lumumba claimed that there were two new factions forming in the Zanu-PF party. According to Lumumba Zanu-PF was going to deny the existence of the two factions and present a picture of a united front until one faction gets crushed, similar to what happened in the succession battles between the G40 and (then) Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Team Lacoste Faction.[1]

Jonathan Moyo's assertion

Jonathan Moyo who fled into exile after the fall of former President Robert Mugabe disputed that any new factions had been created saying that the factions had always been there. According to Moyo, the two factions which had been united in the fight against the G40 Faction were Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Team Lacoste and the military’s Cosleg faction.[1] Via his Twitter handle Jonathan Moyo weighed in solidifying Mutumanje’s claims highlighting that the post-Mugabe era dispute within the ZANU-PF party had long been brewing only to have manifested itself in currency manipulation in relation to fuel business scam.

For the record, there are no two new post-coup factions. LACOSTE and COSLEG are not new. The #QueenBeeSaga does not change or create factions. It only exposes them in the context of the on-going economic meltdown with specific reference to currency manipulation and fuel chicanery
