Pensioner's Payout Increased To $200 - Report

NSSA had bumped the pensioners’ payout from $80 to $200 per month, the Daily News reports. The move is aimed at improving the welfare of the pensioners according to the authority’s board chair who announced the increase on Monday and said:

The reviewed pensions, which were done in consultation with the minister of Finance and Economic Development, are now as follows: Pension and Other Benefits Scheme: Minimum monthly retirement pension increased to $200 from $80. In addition, all pensions have been increased by 65 percent across the board.

NSSA has been headlining for the wrong reasons this year, chief among them former Minister Priscah Mupfumira’s corruption at the authority allegations.
