South African-based Zimbabwean gospel singer, Reverend T.T Chivaviro, said that he is disgusted with what is happening to goods donated towards Tropical Cyclone Idai survivors.
Chivaviro revealed that there are people moving around misrepresenting they are collecting for a cause yet the affected never get to see anything. He said:
I saw disgusting things happening to donated stuff this side, and some going around misrepresenting they are collecting for a cause yet the affected never get to see anything. I have also seen people politicking taking advantage of such scenarios. Mwari vatibetsere.
The musician’s worries are shared by people across the country who are anxious because some of the donated goods may never reach the suffering villagers but could be syphoned by callous individuals.
