Zibagwe RDC To Auction Stray Livestock

Zibagwe Rural District Council (RDC) plans to sell off stray livestock in a public auction which will be held in Zhombe on May 8.
The livestock includes heifers, oxen, calves, cows, donkeys and goats.
Another auction will be held at Silobela police camp on May 9 and Belgrave, Kubri and Oliphant Farm at 11.00am.
Acting Midlands police spokesperson assistant inspector Ethel Mukwende said that the police was overwhelmed by a large number of stray livestock, hence it had resolved to engage Zibagwe RDC.
Assistant Inspector Mukwende revealed that they were keeping stray cattle, donkeys and goats since January.

According to regulations, police are allowed to keep stray animals for three months before auctioning them, if they are not claimed by their owners.
She added that the livestock has different brand marks, making it difficult for the police to trace their origins and the owners.
