Jonathan Moyo Hits Back At 'Gukurahundi Careerists' Report

Former Education Minister Jonathan Moyo has castigated state media reports which suggested that there are “gukurahundi careerists”.

The terminology denotes that there are some people who have profited and earned a living through campaigning for justice for Gukurahundi victims.

Writing on social media in response to the Sunday Mail report, Moyo said:

This thing of even suggesting that there are “gukurahundi careerists” is an atrocity.

The teremity to suggest people have “profited” and “earned a living” from campaigning for truth and justice for gukurahundi victims beggars belief. It’s cruel and proves Mnangagwa’s sinister agenda!

Part of the Sunday Mail report that drew Professor Moyo’s response reads as follows:

Predictably, those that had profited, built houses and fattened their wallets from Gukuruhundi are panicking and throwing tantrums.

… Seeing Zimbabwe finally moving to speak openly on Gukurahundi, careerists have gone on a crescendo of stoking tribal tensions in the vain hope of scuttling President Mnangagwa’s initiatives.

Leading the pack is self-exiled former Cabinet Minister Jonathan Moyo, who went on a tirade on Twitter.
