There have been many theories among Chinhoyi residents to explain the sudden death on Easter Monday of a senior Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) operative, Martin Cyprian Nyashanu.
Nyashanu is believed to have collapsed and died shortly after reportedly killing a snake at his Mzari suburb home. For some who believe in superstition, his death could have resulted from black magic.
However, relatives of the deceased and government officials confirmed that Nyashanu had been unwell lately.
Nyashanu, whose nom-de-guerre was Bruce Vatema Kudzanai, was declared a provincial hero and buried at the local shrine on Wednesday.
