MDC Nominees To Start Official Campaigning
MDC candidates who have received nominations for various party positions will soon be able to start canvassing for support ahead of the May 24-26 Congress.
The position was confirmed by part spokesperson Jacob Mafume. In an interview with the Daily News, Mafume said the campaigns will officially start after the national council meeting. Said Mafume:
After the national council meeting, candidates will have either accepted or declined the nominations they got after being validated by the national council marking the beginning of official campaigns.
FeedbackThere will be provincial councils where public debates will take place with candidates selling their ideas to ensure that those who vote make informed choices.
We hope to have these debates televised so we are going to approach media houses to help with moderation and coverage along with the help of the electoral body.

We want to see candidates debate policy issues about the party and the country because we are represented at various public platforms such as Parliament and council.
MDC has 13 provinces in total. 12 of them have already held their congresses with party president Nelson Chamisa is the only nominee who is yet to be contested. Only South Africa is yet to hold its congress with reports indicating that it was to be held on Saturday (yesterday).
