Chamisa, Ngarivhume Alliance Breaks Up
The alliance between the Chamisa-led MDC and Jacob Ngarivhume’s Transform Zimbabwe has come to end.
Chamisa and Ngarivhume joined hands in the run-up to the disputed July 2018 elections under the MDC Alliance umbrella.
However, the two parties failed to work together properly especially when it came to the allocation of constituencies with reports indicating that an MDC candidate was fielded where Ngarivhume was supposed to contest.
Speaking about his departure from the MDC Alliance, Ngarivhume said:
We are leaving the alliance. We met as the executive and decided to make this decision.

Transform Zimbabwe executive felt we can add more value as TZ to the democratic movement. We want to build more our organization and then work with the alliance in 2023.
Meanwhile, MDC spokesperson Jacob Mafume refused to be drawn into the issue.
The MDC Alliance consisted of Chamisa’s MDC, Tendai Biti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Welshman Ncube’s MDC, Zanu Ndonga led by Denford Musiyarira, Multi-Racial Christian Democratic Party, Zimbabwe People First fronted by Agrippa Mutambara, and Jacob Ngarivhume’s Transform Zimbabwe.
