Effects Of Global Warming On Zimbabwe So Far

Recently, Zimbabwe and some Southern African states have been facing ‘natural disasters’ in the form of floods, heat wave, drought, and cyclones. All these “Acts of God”, as others have argued, can be attributed to global warming which is a man-made problem. On the global agenda, climate change has featured on several occasions with states agreeing on the need to address it. Surveys made so far suggest that Zimbabwe is in dire need of food due to the destruction of crops by cyclone Idai and Elnino induced drought currently. Infrastructure, the future, and lives were lost due to the cyclone.

He added that we must talk about it, understand it and counter it since it is already at hand. Some who responded to this tweet asserted that there is need to conscientise the public on resilience and coping tactics. They also suggested having the concerted and coordinated efforts from all stakeholders so as to come up with strategies strong enough to avoid and address the issues.
