Spokesperson of the National Patriotic Front, Jealousy Mawarire, has questioned Transport Minister Joel Biggie Matiza’s sincerity in probing corruption at the Zimbabwe National Road Administration Authority (ZINARA). Writing on microblogging site Twitter on Tuesday, Mawarire said:
There is more to Minister Matiza not questioning why Zinara is not cutting Nancy Masiyiwa-Chamisa’s salary, therefore, choosing to “negotiate” with a suspended employee. The first is Masiyiwa-Chamisa is sister to the junta govt biggest benefactor, and that she is an ex-soldier.
Charging Masiyiwa-Chamisa with corruption has the likelihood of upsetting her brother resulting in massive repercussions 4 Junta govt and entities like Angel of Hope. Remember the brother has pumped in millions 4 Cholera fight, Cyclone Idai, Zanu-PF elections and FL ‘charity’ errands.
The other issue is her military background. CEOs with military backgrounds have gotten away with charges of corruption. Ex-soldiers are untouchable when it comes to fighting corruption. It has been like that with GMB, ZBC, now Zinara.
