'Executive Letting Down Parliament By Ignoring Recommendations'

Parliament has castigated the Executive branch of government for failing to implement its recommendations, which mostly expose corruption.

Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines chairperson Edmond Mkaratigwa (Shurugwi South, Zanu PF), appearing delegates recently at a Transparency International Zimbabwe anti-corruption indaba in Harare, cited three reports submitted by three of his predecessors yet nothing was done.

The late Edward Chindori Chininga, Daniel Shumba, and Temba Mliswa’s recommendations in the past 10 years were not acted on, according to Mrakatigwa. He said:

These reports identified challenges dogging the diamond sector and proffered solutions; however, the biggest challenge is that the Executive has not responded to any of the recommendations that were proffered in the past decade.
