MDC president Nelson Chamisa has vowed to continue playing a role in the country’s politics as well as being involved with clerical duties.
Addressing mourners who were gathered at the Tsvangirai home on Tuesday for the funeral wake of the MDC founding president’s daughter Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java, Chamisa drew parallels with other Biblical characters who played an active role in the nation of Israel’s politics. He said:
Some people do not know. They say pastors should desist from taking part in politics. David had three anointings; a prophetic, priestly anointing and kingly anointing.
You should then understand. When we take part in politics, we were sent and are here to add light as politics has a lot of the dark periods, men of cloth should do more in this light.
Chamisa trained as a pastor with the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology.
