ZANU-PF has been in power since Zimbabwe got independence in 1980. Several political parties have since then been trying to remove the party from power, by all means, necessary and unnecessary including through the ballot and have not been successful so far. There are however claims that the party has been manipulating the electoral process for it to remain in power. At the moment, the MDC leader Nelson Chamisa is refusing to accept the outcome of the 2018 harmonised elections arguing that the electoral body, Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and ZANU PF jointly rigged the election in favour of the ruling party. The opposition party dragged both ZEC and the ruling party to courts but failed to convince the judges that the electoral process was flawed. It is against this background that the video below is presented.
