D-Day For Corrupt ZANU PF Bosses

Members of the public are probably waiting with bated breath to hear the names of top ZANU PF officials who are sabotaging the country’s economy by engaging in illegal foreign currency deals.

ZANU PF Youth League deputy secretary, Lewis Matutu claimed last week that he had the names of those involved and vowed to name them on Monday (today). Said Matutu:

For now, we have to focus on our own people who are in government and in the party so that when our house is clean, we can shout out aloud against those who are sabotaging our country.

Matutu further claimed that since he started his crusade against corruption, some party bigwigs have threatened him with death. Writing on microblogging site Twitter, he said:

Since l started firmly denouncing corruption, some comrades in the revolution have come guns blazing against me, however, l will not stop until it’s over and those that are also benefiting from corruption be ready for the show.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF Youth League secretary Pupurai Togarei told The Standard that they will defend Matutu following the death threats that were directed at him. Said Togarepi:

It has always been our position to name and shame corrupt individuals and saboteurs. Lewis Matutu is a messenger, don’t fight him. Any further attack on him will invite a firm response from the youth league.

They crossed the Rubicon line by threatening the deputy secretary. We cannot allow them to vandalise the efforts by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to rebuild Zimbabwe.

It remains to be seen whether Matutu has the courage to spill the beans as he promised.
