WATCH: ZANU PF Youths Plan Farm Invasions
The ZANU PF Youth League yesterday announced that they will be invading farms from multiple farm owners. They reportedly said that they aim to redistribute the land to young people. This announcement comes at a time when the government, through the ongoing land audit has unearthed multiple farm ownership. Reports suggest that some prominent individuals own up to 16 farms each. Zimbabwe embarked on the land reform programme on the aftermath of independence in 1980 in a bid to correct the colonial imbalances. The policy was also adopted to boost the agriculture sector, that is, to enhance agricultural exports. So far, results have been disappointing as the country is failing to produce enough even for domestic consumption.
