We See Cluelessness When Govt Speaks Of 3 More Years Of Suffering - Analysts

A political analyst, Rashweat Mukundu, has said that the government has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that it does not have the solutions needed to pull out Zimbabwe out of disaster.

His remarks are a response to Foreign Affairs Minister, Sibusiso Moyo’s warning that Zimbabweans need to brace for three more tougher years.

The country has a huge deficit in fuel, medicines, food and electricity. These coupled with the soaring inflation, have made the lives of Zimbabweans very hard. Speaking to the Daily News, Mukundu said:

The proposed solutions seem not to be working judging by the continued decline of the economy, and with that comes increased suffering for citizens.

When SB Moyo now talks of three years of suffering without clarity on benchmarks towards stabilisation and prosperity, then we can only see cluelessness.

Mukundu’s remarks were reverberated by another analyst, Maxwell Saungweme, who said that the government has failed to address the challenges facing the country. Saungweme said:

What is happening is clear manifestation that the current leadership of the country has no clue and can’t arrest the economic and social challenges.

All things are too big and sophisticated for them, and they are reverting to Zanu PF’s normal default … of arresting citizens and human rights defenders.

We simply don’t have people with a clue of the change needed to take Zimbabwe forward.

They continue to diagnose the economic challenges wrongly and overdose the economy with wrong prescriptions. Unless they change course, nothing will change for the better.
