2023: ZANU PF Win In By-elections Shows ED Will Beat Chamisa Easily - Mutodi
4 years ago
A ZANU PF MP, Energy Mutodi, claims that the opposition MDC Alliance’s defeat in the Lupane East by-elections is a foretaste of things to come.
Mutodi, who represents Goromonzi West in the National Assembly and an ally of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, said that his boss will win easily over MDC leader Nelson Chamisa in the 2023 elections.
Writing on microblogging site Twitter on Monday, the Deputy Information Minister said:
MDC-A defeat in Lupane and other by-elections tellingly means His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa will lead ZANU PF to another romping victory in 2023, and Chisa mwana Chisa will still say elections have been stolen.
The MDC Alliance lost in all the three by-elections held on Saturday in Matabeleland North Province. The MDC and secessionist party, Mthwakazi Republic Party have both cited the issue of finances and vote-buying by ZANU PF as their Achilles heel.
