Police Officers Undergo Cybercrime Training

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has subjected its officers to a five-day intensive Train-the-Trainer Cybercrime First Responders’ Course to equip them with requisite skills needed in tackling cybercrime.

Speaking during the official opening of the course held in Harare on Wednesday, Director Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Senior Assistant Commissioner Crispen Charumbira, who was represented by deputy director (Administration CID) Assistant Commissioner Taonei Nyazema, said:

The importance of cybercrime training need not be overemphasised since the world is dynamic.

Criminals now use sophisticated means as modus operandi, so the need for cybercrime training is of great importance to the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

As we are all aware that dealing with cases of cybercrime is quite complex and sophisticated considering the ever-changing cyber-environment in which we operate, the need for constant training is a necessity.
