A Daily News on Sunday report claims that some older women in the high-density suburb Epworth are recruiting underage girls into prostituti0n. The report says some girls are as young as 10.
Said the report:
It has also emerged that there is a “cartel” of women in Epworth “pimping” out young girls, literally hiring them out for se_x in return for financial benefits.
Residents have raised concern over growing child prostituti0n which they said is destroying young girls’ future.
Speaking at the launch of the Population Services Zimbabwe (PSZ) clinic in Epworth last week, residents called for the arrest of the “pimps”.“We are happy that PSZ has opened a clinic for us where we can access free reproductive healthcare services.
“However, our children as young as 10, are engaging in prostituti0n as they are being recruited into se_x work by older women.
“We call on government and other relevant authorities to arrest these women as they are destroying the future of our children,” Loice Nharo, a resident of Epworth said.
