Husband 'Killer' To Undergo Mental Examination

A Chikanga woman who axed her husband five times following a domestic dispute on Christmas Eve is set to undergo a mental examination before the trial can proceed at the Mutare High Court.

Anesu Mafokosho (24), axed her husband, Vitalis Mudhumo on December 24, 2018, and fled but was arrested on January 4, 2019.

The accused’s defence counsel, Mafusire of Mangawana and Partners Legal Practitioners want her client, Mafokosho to undergo psychotherapy sessions to ascertain if her mind was okay when she committed the crime.

Mafokosho is charged with murder as defined in Section 47(1) (a) or (b) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
