The MDC Vice president and Harare East Legislator has described the Bulawayo demo ban by the police as fascist. The police have issued a prohibition notice to the Chief Ndiweni’s solidarity march that was supposed to take place in the city of Amakhosi naMakhosikazi tomorrow 19 August 2019.
Speaking to Zim Morning Post Biti said:
It’s fascist. This regime keeps angering the people. There is no longer any avenue for dialogue. We have no other option but to seek the legal route.
Why is this regime afraid of talking to its people. We are being taken back to 1931. Demonstrations are constitutional rights but the Emmerson Mnangagwa regime is shutting the people out
Barely 3 days ago the Police also banned the 16 August Demo that was supposed to take place in Harare. The Harare demo ban came a few days after ZANU PF Political commissar Victor Matemadanda and defence forces Deputy Minister said the demo would not take place.
