Liverpool Defender, Virgil Van Dijk Wins UEFA Men's Best Player Award

Liverpool defender, Virgil Van Dijk has won the UEFA men’s best player ahead of Juventus and Portugal striker, Cristiano Ronaldo as well as ahead of Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi.
The announcement was made on Thursday evening in Monaco.
Van Dijk also won the best defender of the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League Season.
He thanked his teammates saying he would not have achieved everything he achieved if they were not there.
The Dutchman is the first defender ever to win the award and also first Premier League player ever to win the award.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo remains the player who won the award more than others with three whilst Messi follows with two.
