"Robert Mugabe Had No House In Harare" - Family

Leo Mugabe, the spokesperson of the family of the late founding leader of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe has said that the former ZANU PF boss did not own a house in Harare.

His remarks come when some members of the public have criticised Mugabe for building a state of the art building, the Blue Roof, the mansion at which Mugabe family has been residing, when the country’s economy has been on a downward spiral for decades now.

Leo Mugabe, however, dismissed the rumours that the mansion belonged to Mugabe saying that it actually belonged to the ruling ZANU PF. He said:

It’s so funny. The party (Zanu PF) is the one that bought the first house in Mt Pleasant and the land for the Blue Roof property. It leaves the former President Mugabe without a house in Harare.

His remarks were supported by Zanu PF secretary for administration, Obert Mpofu who revealed that the party was in the process of transferring title of the properties.
