First Lady Urges Citizens To Be Patient, Economy Will Improve "In Our Lifetime"

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has implored Zimbabweans to be patient as the measures being put in place by the government will improve the economy “in our lifetime”.

Mnangagwa made the call in Redcliff on Sunday at the funeral wake of Caroline Mazvovere, a ZANU PF official. She said:

I have hope that we are going to see an improvement in the economic fortunes as the government is putting in place measures to ensure the economy improves.

We have to be cognisant of the fact that it’s not an overnight feat for us to start experiencing economic transformation.

Our economy has been in distress for a very long time now. Instead of improvement of our prospects over the years, there have not been any economic growth.

There wasn’t any economy to speak of. We, however, need to exercise patience as the government is working round the clock to ensure that there is an improvement in our economy.

The First Lady had been sent by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to express his condolences over the death of the party official.

She was accompanied by State Security Minister Owen Ncube, Provincial Executive member Cornelius Mupereri and former Mbizo Legislator Vongai Mupereri and other ZANU PF officials.
