MDC, Bulawayo Province 'Rejects' Make Peace
The MDC structures in Bulawayo province have been reconfigured to include losing candidates who lost in the run-up to the party’s elective congress that was held in Gweru in May this year.
In an interview with NewZimbabwe.com over the weekend, provincial spokesperson, Swithern Chirowodza, said that the integration of losing candidates has been done across all wings. He said:
Bulawayo province has fully integrated those who contested for provincial administrative committee positions at the last provincial congress held on 18 April 2019. This is a magnanimous position.
FeedbackFollowing the chaotic provincial congress held on 18 April, 12 losing provincial executive aspirants wrote a letter to the national executive requesting the invalidation of the vote citing electoral irregularities.
Those reported to have been integrated include Nketa legislator Phelela Masuku, Mpopoma MP Charles Moyo, former Pumula MP Albert Mhlanga, and former Bulawayo Deputy Mayor Aldermen Mpofu.
