'Cash Strapped' Zimbabwe Beats Nigeria In Paying UN Fees - Report

A report by the Africa Report says Zimbabwe is one of the 129 countries to have paid its UN fees as of 7 October. Describing Zimbabwe as cash strapped country, the article went on to say, Nigeria, Africa’s second-largest economy is yet to make good on its obligation to pay the UN fees 10 months into 2019.

Cash-strapped Zimbabwe and most recently, conflict-riven Syria are two of the 129 of the UN’s 193-member states to have paid their 2019 dues as of October 7.

The United Nations is facing a serious cash shortage crisis with the secretary-general admitting that if other countries don’t pay their member fees they may not be able to meet their salary obligation for next month.
